The Settlement Counsellor will provide settlement information services through a Kiosk located in a Mississauga shopping mall.

Responsibilities:

• Provide settlement information and referral services
  
• Facilitate appropriate referrals and access to services in the community
  
• Develop and maintain up-to-date settlement and community information resources at the Kiosk
  
• Implement technological systems allowing clients access to web-based settlement information
  
• Assist the Settlement Services Manager and Regional Director to evaluate and enhance the Kiosk service delivery model
  
• Conduct community outreach to promote other CCS programs and services
  
• Participate in regular team and regional meetings
  
• Prepare and submit statistical and narrative reports to supervisor as required
  
• Other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications:

• Social Work degree or Settlement Counselling diploma from a recognized institution or equivalent training in the Human Services field
  
• Work experience in the settlement sector
  
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  
• In-depth knowledge of community resources and services
  
• Interview, assessment, analytical and problem solving skills
  
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other service providers and the general public
  
• Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting immigrant and refugee communities
  
• Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills in a multi-cultural work environment
  
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
  
• Ability to work productively in a web-based work environment
  
• Fluency in a second language relevant to the community is required
  
• Excellent oral and written English skills
  

This is a part-time position scheduled to work 24 hours per week – including evenings and weekends
Current Weekly schedule: Mondays to Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $25.40 per hour
