LINC Manager (Peel Region)
Catholic Cross-Cultural Services requires a LINC Manager (Peel Region)
CCS is a settlement agency which provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of religion, race or political affiliation. CCS is seeking a LINC Manager who will be responsible for performing all the coordinating activities in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating the LINC Program in accordance with the program policies and guidelines of the federal government.
The LINC Manager will report to the Peel Regional Director and work closely with other Program Managers in CCS Peel Region.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the CCS LINC Program in Peel Region
- Supervise the LINC staff team, summer students and volunteers
- Devise and implement community outreach strategies
- Create and maintain the Supply Teacher list and obtain supply teachers as needed
- Monitor the implementation of the Ontario LINC Curriculum Guidelines, Canadian Language Benchmarks, CMAS (Childminding Monitoring Advisory and Support) and ARS
- Collect, tabulate and prepare program statistics and other information as required, including monthly statistical and narrative reports, regular employee payroll and other financial information
- Evaluate and make recommendations to improve program delivery
- Consult with Lead Childminders regarding the development of the children’s program
- Plan and implement appropriate staff development activities
- Plan and coordinate appropriate purchases related to the delivery of the LINC program
- Liaise with the local assessment centre, community agencies, Peel LINC Partnership Operations Committee and other stakeholders
- Assist the Peel Regional Director with the preparation of annual funding applications
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership, communication, planning, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Proven, successful experience required in staff supervision and managing educational/training programs
- Demonstrated success in working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds, and sound knowledge and understanding of issues faced by newcomers to Canada
- TESL certificate from a recognized institution or OTC with ESL part 1 and 2
- Previous ESL or LINC teaching experience at various levels
This is a full-time position scheduled to work 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as required.
