Community Services Worker
Centre for Information & Community Services of Ontario requires a Community Services Worker.
Initial Posting: Successful candidate will be posted to Community Services Unit. Any change to this posting, as well as subsequent transfer within the same job classification is at the discretion of Management.
Reports to: Program Manager
Responsibilities:
- Design, promote, implement, and evaluate educational and social activities for immigrant youth, families and seniors
- Outreach to immigrant community
- Organize group sessions, workshops, and activities for clients
- Provide group facilitation and training
- Attend internal and external meetings as required
- Assist the manager in the unit’s daily operations
- Keep and maintain records in a timely and professional manners
- Prepare activity and statistical reports;
- Monitor program revenue and expenses as directed
- Provide assistance and support to other team members and staff whenever needs arise
- Assure quality and professional services being provided at all time
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Canadian University degree or equivalent, in Social Sciences or related discipline, BSW preferred;
- Experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation and group facilitation
- Experience in working with immigrant youth, adults, seniors and volunteers
- Experience in logic model and outcome measurement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, and a second language commonly used by clientele; i.e. Mandarin and Cantonese
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Ability to work with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications;
- Flexible, willing to work in evenings and weekends
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid driver license and use of car preferred
- Willing to travel in the GTA
- Proof of a “Vulnerable Police Criminal Check”.
This is a full-time position scheduled to work 35 hours per week; may be required to work in evenings and weekends.
Salary: $36,829 - $47,073 per annum
