Quality Continuous Improvement Centre for Community Education & Training, Newcomer Centre requires an Administrative Assistant.
Summary: This position provides administrative support to the Manager and Information Counsellors at the Newcomer Information Centres located in Malton, Brampton East Campus, City South Campus and Mississauga.
Reporting to: Team Leader, Newcomer Information Centre
Responsibilities:
- Create flyers, calendars and other promotional material for NIC.
- Respond to client inquiries by phone and in person
- Register clients and organize client questionnaires and evaluations
- Maintain and update database
- Assist in the compilation of statistical reports
- Perform typing, photocopying, filing and other duties as assigned
- Maintain inventory control of resource materials and other necessary documents
- Assist with the production and distribution of promotional materials
- Perform other related duties for program delivery as required
- Will be required to work some evenings and Saturdays in Brampton or Mississauga offices
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel)
- Experience in database management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
- Knowledge of French or a language other than English is most desirable
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
- Adaptable, flexible and able to work independently
- Ability to multi-task, take initiative and be able to meet regular deadlines
This is a full-time temporary position, schedueld to work 35 hours per week
Start date: November 30, 2009 to March 31, 2010
Salary:
$36,000-$37,000
