Understanding Family Law on Relationship Breakdown: E-Learning for Working with Women Leaving Abusive Relationships

Understanding Family Law on Relationship Breakdown: E-Learning for Working with Women Leaving Abusive Relationships is a five-week online course which will provide participants with current, relevant and accessible legal information so that they can assist women in navigating the legal system, especially where there is a history of partner abuse, or where such abuse is suspected.

This course is targetted at anyone who provides services to women who may disclose abuse, such as counsellors, social workers, educators, advocates, settlement workers, and support group facilitators/leaders, as well as those who provide direct service to women fleeing violence such as as front-line women's shelter or crisis-line workers.

Course Topics Include:

  • Marriage and Divorce
  • Custody and Access
  • Child Protection and Violence Against Women
  • Financial Issues on Relationship Breakdown

This course is delivered in partnership with York University, Department of Continuing Education, Atkinson College.

Course Fee: $295 plus GST.
