The latest news for the Youth Employment Sector across Ontario OLC Makes Learning Opportunities Possible at Work (Toronto, February 12, 2010) Article Source:
OLC Makes Learning Opportunities Possible at Work The Ontario Literacy Coalition (OLC) makes adult learning
opportunities possible at work, at home and in the community. As Ontario moves through this economic
recession, the workplace becomes the ideal environment for learning as workers
seek training to upgrade their skills and maintain employment. The OLC leads a Learning for Work Strategy in Ontario, which
highlights literacy and essential skills as fundamentally important to a
productive workplace, an engaged workforce and a prosperous Ontario. This strategy involves key OLC partnerships
with the business and labour communities. In conjunction with business and labour groups and the
support of the Government of Ontario, the OLC is proud to announce our latest initiative, Collaborative Developmental
Approaches (CODA): Piloting Illustrative Workplace Models. Marking the re-introduction of Workplace Literacy in the
province of Ontario and the fulfillment of a long term OLC goal, this
initiative facilitates the implementation of Learning for Work programs in
workplaces across Ontario. The OLC makes learning opportunities possible at work.
