LINC Home Study Program

(Toronto, October 8, 2009) LINC Home Study is a language training program for newcomers to Canada who wish to improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. Students study in the comfort of their homes opting either for a traditional method (books and CDs) or a computer-assisted method (online) of study. In either case, every student is entitled to a weekly facilitation session with a teacher who helps the student move through the LINC levels, just like in a classroom.

The program is taught by experienced TESL-certified instructors and is supported by a team of experts in the area of distance language education. The program is a perfect alternative for adult learners who cannot attend classroom programs due to any number of reasons. The program offers LINC curriculum for levels 2 to 7. Once students complete LINC 5, they graduate from the program. If they wish, they may return to continue on with the more advanced levels.

INC Home Study program is open to adult immigrants over the age of 17 who have not yet acquired Canadian citizenship. Students must have at least a CLB benchmark of 3 for listening and speaking, and a CLB benchmark of 2 for reading and writing. They must be willing to work at least 10 - 12 hours a week on their own, be self-motivated and willing to take charge of their own learning.
