A year ago, the Ontario government launched a new $4 million Employment Innovations Fund. The ministry is now accepting Letters of Interest for 2007/08 funding under this initiative.
The Employment Innovations Fund aims to engage employers in expanding job opportunities for people on social assistance, including people with disabilities. Municipalities, not-for-profit organizations, as well as employer associations, chambers of commerce and boards of trade may apply to this fund. Individuals and individual employers are not eligible in their own right, but may apply as part of a group.
If you have an innovative idea for breaking down barriers and for providing better employment opportunities for a pool of willing, able workers, please consider submitting a Letter of Interest as the first step in applying for 2007/08 funding.
Visit the ministry's website (www.mcss.gov.on.ca ) for additional information on the Employment Innovations Fund, and to obtain a copy of the application package. Please note that Letters of Interest must be received by July 25, 2007. The ministry will review letters to identify projects that most closely match criteria and invite selected organizations to submit a detailed proposal.
