Mentoring Facilitator/Coach

COSTI-IIAS Immigrant Services, COSTI York Region Employment Centre requires a Mentoring Facilitator/Coach.

COSTI is a multicultural organization providing settlement, employment, rehabilitation and ESL services to newcomers.

To foster the integration of Internationally Trained Professionals into the labour market through mentorships.

Responsibilities:

  • Markets Employment Mentoring Program to mentors and mentees of various racial and ethnic groups
  • Screens mentors and mentees and facilitates appropriate matches
  • Manages a caseload of at least 100 matches/year
  • Provides orientation sessions and training to mentors and mentees
  • Supports and encourages mentors and mentees throughout the mentoring process
  • Provides information, guidance and resources to ensure sustainability of the matches
  • Evaluates the mentoring matches during and upon completion of the process
  • Participates in the evaluation of program activities, including collection of statistical data and client feedback

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in human services or related field, preference will be given to those with an Employment Counselling Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in direct service to newcomers (immigrants and internationally trained professionals
  • Well-developed presentation skills and group facilitation techniques
  • Strong leadership, time management and self-management skills
  • Excellent ability for problem solving, assertiveness
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with exceptional multitasking skills
  • Required to work flexible evenings hours
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written), ability to speak another language is an asset
  • Knowledge of Word, Power Point, Access, Excel, Word Perfect and Windows environment software and the ability to use Internet
  • Life Skills Coach training is an asset
  • Must have access to a car, as travel within York Region will be a requirement

This is a full-time union position, schedule to work 35 hours per week. Shift work including some evenings is required.
Salary: $37,784 to $40,666
Locations: 129 Church Street, Richmond Hill
