Executive Director

Employer: The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP)

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is a non-profit, non-government organization.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the contracted Executive Director is accountable for developing, recommending and implementing, upon Board approval, strategies and business plans for the efficient and effective business operations of the organization. The Executive Director will also manage a contract for Association Management Support services.

A dynamic individual who wishes to contribute to the mission of OACP and is able to provide association management leadership will find immense value in this position. The candidate will be comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment and be able to link strategies to measurable action and manage priorities on a timely basis.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Business or related degree or diploma;
  • Strong planning, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a senior leadership role;
  • Experience in not-for-profit environments; working with boards, committees and volunteers; advocacy; education; program management; and consensus building capabilities to establish effective relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Other assets may include: experience in policing leadership, government relations, and a CAE designation.

This position will be based in Toronto or within a reasonable commuting distance to Toronto.
