Executive Director

Women Today of Huron require an Executive Director.

Women Today of Huron is a local non-profit orgainization. Women Today of Huron is a community-based, rural women's resource centre that provides programs, information and services to the women and youth of Huron County. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation and administrative duties of the Women Today and ensures the efficient daily operation of the organization.

Responsibilities:

The Executive Director is responsible for but not limited to:
  • The accountable management of the organization, specifically that funding is sought, allocated and disbursed according to agreements, guidelines and stipulations as mandated by our Mission Statement and set by the Board of Directors and the organization’s funders
  • Undertaking programs and services that are designed and delivered according to the mandate of the organization and the expressed needs of women and their advocates in Huron County
  • Ensuring that staff, volunteers and clients of the organization are subject to fair and accountable policies, procedures, practices and protections as determined by the Board of Directors and the membership of the organization
  • Ensuring that the organization meets its commitments to the community, specifically through the maintenance of strong, collaborative partnerships and on-going community consultation
  • Contributing to the advancement of the status of rural women, both in HuronCounty and elsewhere, through participatory action research, outreach, professional training and social justice activities
Qualifications:
  • The academic qualifications must include an advanced degree or diploma in social sciences or any associated discipline
  • Experience in leadership role such as overseeing staff personal and volunteers
  • Direct experience in seeking and applying for project and on- going funding from appropriate sources as determined by the mandate of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels: local, provincial and federal
  • Excellent proven and extensive administrative experience.
  • Proven ability as a manager and administrator of an organization of similar scale, preferably non profit but not limited to
  • Aptitude to working in teams and team building
