Catholic Cross-cultural Services requires a Refugee Sponsorship Training Program Coordinator.
The Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) provides nation-wide services to address the training, knowledge and support needs of Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) involved in the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/refugees/sponsor/index.asp).
Responsibilities:
- Management of all RSTP services to address the diverse training needs of PSR sponsors, and all program objectives and obligations
- Organize and host an annual planning conference and four regional training/consultation meetings
- Build an effective and responsive RSTP staff team
- Develop and support an RSTP Advisory Committee to provide input and feedback for the program
- Coordinate the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of all RSTP services
- Develop new materials in accessible user friendly formats in both official languages to meet the changing needs of private sponsors
- Continuously monitor trends in private and government sponsorship both domestically and internationally
- Develop an annual strategic plan in cooperation with RSTP stakeholders
- Build the training capacity of RSTP by developing regional training capability
- Actively promote RSTP services amongst the diverse sponsors involved in the PSR program
Qualifications:
- Minimum undergraduate degree or equivalent training in human services field
- In-depth experience with and knowledge of the Private Sponsorship of Refugees program
- Knowledge of Canada’s immigration, resettlement and refugee protection policies, and the global refugee migration system • Proven ability to work productively with diverse program stakeholders including Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs), the UNHCR and Government of Canada departments
- Experience in delivering adult education programs including development of curriculum and materials
- Ability to provide training and networking services in a web-based environment
- Demonstrated program management, financial management and staff supervision skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required; ability to communicate in French and other additional languages is an asset
- Proven skill in working productively with people with diverse backgrounds
- Ability to travel within Canada and work weekends and evenings
