Executive Director

TAIBU Community Health Centre requires an Executive Director.

The vision for the new TAIBU Community Health Centre (CHC) is healthy, vibrant and sustainable communities creating our own solutions. TAIBU CHC will be a community-based, non-profit organization that promotes health and well-being by providing comprehensive primary health care to the people of the Malvern community in Scarborough with specialized programs and services for the Black community.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide skilled and creative leadership to establish this new CHC and implement its approved programs, ensure the organization, its resources, and infrastructure are well managed, reflect the Centre's vision and mission, and align to achieve short and long term goals. Specific responsibilities include ongoing liaison with the Board, funders, and community partners; financial management; operations; human resource planning; implementation and evaluation; partnership development; strategic planning; and community and public relations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful (results-based) experience in a community-based, multi-stakeholder environment
  • A graduate degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline or combination of an undergraduate degree with significant management experience
  • Significant experience working with racialized and marginalized communities
  • Experience working with a volunteer, community-based Board of Directors
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a combined interdisciplinary professional and community-based team
  • Proven financial/facility management and human resource skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CHC model of care would be an asset
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Sound knowledge of the social determinants of health
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications

This is a full-time position.
