The Organizational Standards Coordinator will have a commitment to and awareness of equity, access to services, anti-racism and anti-oppression, gender-justice and anti-poverty as it relates to immigrants and refugees. The position reports to the Executive Director.
About OCASI
The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) is a registered charitable organization created to act as a collective voice for immigrant serving agencies and to coordinate responses to shared needs and concerns. Established in 1978, OCASI serves as an umbrella organization for a network of more than 180 immigrant serving agencies situated in the province of Ontario. The Mission of OCASI is to achieve equality, access and full participation for immigrants and refugees in every aspect of Canadian life.
Responsibilities:
- Develop organizational standards based on review of existing literature, existing standards in other jurisdictions and on interviews and/or consultations with practitioners, managers, executive directors, and Board members in seven OCASI regions across Ontario
- Develop and pilot-test a self-assessment toolkit which consists of Standards, Indicators and Guidelines to attain organizational excellence.
- Develop organizational plan to achieve the standards in areas that need improvement
- Develop and implement a Peer Mentorship system including recruitment of peer mentors to be paired with leaders from organizations who have identified areas of organizational standardization needing development.
- Develop and implement a communications plan to promote the organizational standards strategy among OCASI member organizations
- Develop a virtual library of best practices, templates and policies
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of organizational development and training
- Prior experience in the development of organizational standards
- Experience in designing and evaluating training and organizational self assessment tools
- Solid knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee issues and the agencies that serve them
- Good consulting and analytical skills
- Excellent written/oral communication skills, confident and effective presentation and facilitation skills
- Proven, relationship-building skills as well as the ability to deliver results by influencing decision-makers
- Strong organization skills, detail oriented, independent, ability to meet tight deadlines and demanding schedules
- Able to travel across Ontario as required
Terms:
This is a two year contract position, subject to renewal depending on performance and availability of additional funding
Salary: $44,000 - $47,000 (plus benefits package)
