Special guest speaker for the evening is Filmmaker Lana Lovell, 6:00-7:30 pm
Lana, a woman with learning disabilities, has proven that one not only can live successfully with learning disabilities, one can thrive with them as well. Lana has directed and/or produced several well-received documentaries, including Into the Heart of Africa and Underground for major broadcast media. In addition, she produces the Open Door Pitch for Innoversity, an annual broadcast contest that targets cultural entrepreneurs who get an opportunity to discuss production ideas with editors, producers and funders. Lana will share her experiences as a woman with a disability in the Canadian Arts Sector as well as showcasing one of her films, Into the Heart of Africa, during the evening.
