WRAP
stands for Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It was developed in
1997 by American consumer/survivor Mary Ellen Copeland. The program involves an
educational and planning process that is grounded in mental health recovery
concepts such as hope, empowerment, self-advocacy and interpersonal support and
connection. It includes a daily maintenance plan and action plans for triggers,
early warning signs, and when things have gotten much worse, as well as crisis
planning and post-crisis planning.
