Using Community Development Strategies to Prevent Domestic Violence against Immigrant and Refugee Women

OCASI invites you to a one day hands-on workhop to work with you through a dynamic process to learn how to engage communities to respond to domestic violence.

Involved in Domestic Violence prevention in your Community? Looking to develop mechanisms to work with immigrant and vulnerable communities in identifying their priorities for community development in the area of domestic violence?
 
OCASI invites you to a  one day hands-on workshop to work with you through a dynamic process to learn how to engage communities to respond to domestic violence.

Target Audience:

This session will be of interest to program coordinators, managers or board members responsible for program planning and implementation at agency level. Frontline workers that are involved in community development and Violence Against Women activities are welcome to attend.

What your organization will gain:

  • A better understanding of the community development process
  • An understanding of woman abuse as a community issue
  • A chance to develop steps and mechanisms to work with communities in identifying their priorities for community development
  • Knowledge about Toronto’s woman abuse context and resources available
  • Examples of community development initiatives that have been used to prevent and respond to domestic violence

Registration fee $25. Breakfast, lunch and break refreshments are included.
