CLEO (Community Legal Education Ontario/ Éducation juridique communautaire Ontario) is pleased to announce the publication of: A new edition of “Do you know a woman who is being abused? A Legal Rights Handbook".

CLEO has revised the handbook to reflect changes in the law, relevant developments and procedures, and resources available to women experiencing violence in Ontario. Each new edition involves consultation with staff from women's shelters, community legal clinics, the Victim/Witness Assistance Program and other parts of the criminal justice system, as well as private lawyers, police and law enforcement officials. In this new edition, sections have been added to address questions about child welfare interventions, dual charging and the role of the police in these situations.
